adjclock will print out information that will help you if you are trying
to adjust the trimmer capacitor for the battery backed clock.
adjclock needs to be run from the CLI with a fairly large (<-precise
technical term) window open.
Every time the seconds counter in the clock chip changes, the change in the
Time of Day clock (which is based on your power line freqency) is printed.
Totals are also printed for every 10,100,1000 and 10000 seconds.
Thus for 60Hz machines optimal numbers are 60,600,6000,60000 and if you wait
long enough 600000. Don't worry about occasional 59s and 61s as long as they
are averaging 60
^E to exit program.
Slightly commented source code that will not work if the hardware changes is
included.
